The largest manufacturer and marketer of wheel-end components for the heavy-duty truck market. The company is widely known for the dependability and quality of its products and is the leading North American supplier in most of the markets it serves. CHPII and senior management acquired Truck Components for $170 million, or $3.16 per share, in May 1994, and in August 1994 the company had an initial public offering at $10 per share. In August 1995, 15 months after the acquisition, Castle Harlan sold Truck Components Inc. to Johnstown America Industries, Inc. for $16 per share, in a transaction valued at more than $250 million.
