Anchor Drilling Fluids USA, Inc. is the largest independent, onshore drilling fluids and fluid handling service company in the United States, providing engineered drilling fluid solutions and well site services to oil and natural gas land drillers. Anchor's drilling fluids business, which comprises approximately 86% of consolidated sales, provides land drillers with customized drilling fluid systems designed to optimize land drilling efficiency and reduce formational pressure risks. Anchor's fluid handling business, which comprises approximately 14% of sales, transports freshwater to drill sites for drilling and completion operations and production water from natural gas production wells to third-party disposal facilities.

Anchor maintains strong and growing positions in the most active onshore oil land natural gas drilling regions in the United States. The Company focuses on complex, unconventional drilling environments, which require higher margin drilling fluid products and engineering services. The Company has 313 employees and operates 23 facilities throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Colorado, Montana, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. Anchor has a distinct competitive advantage in the drilling fluids sector because of its base of 96 drilling fluids engineers, which are the strongest in the industry.

Anchor was acquired by Castle Harlan Partners IV, L.P. in April 2008 in a transaction valued at $250 million.
